Illinois Snow Sculpting Competition
The Illinois Snow Sculpting Competition (ISSC) is held annually in Rockford, Illinois and hosted by the Rockford Park District. This past year's competition was held January 25-28, 2012 in Sinnissippi Park. Teams from around the state competed for the right to represent Illinois in the U.S. Nationals Snow Sculpting Competition in 2013. High schools from northern Illinois also competed in the Rockford Area High School Snow Sculpting Competion, January 26-28. Next year's competition will take place January 16-19, 2013.
Public Viewing
Sinnissippi Park is open to the public for sculpture viewing while weather permits. (We wish they never melted!) Viewing hours are daily from sunrise until 11:00 pm. There is no admission fee, but donations are welcome. You may drive or walk through the park. Limited parking is available.
